Wang Dongling 王冬龄

Born in 1945 in Jiangsu Province, China, Wang Dongling graduated from the elite National Academy of Fine Arts, Zhejiang Province in 1981 and now teaches there. Acknowledged as a master of classical calligraphy as a young man, Wang has gravitated increasingly towards explosive ways in which to make calligraphy relevant to the modern world. Much of his recent work has evolved into pure abstraction.
