Fay Ku 顧詠惠

Fay Ku was born in Taipei, Taiwan in 1974 and immigrated to the United States shortly before her third birthday. After graduating from Bennington College, Bennington, VT, with a dual B.A. in Literature and Visual Arts, she moved to New York City. In 2006, Ku graduated from Pratt Institute with a M.S. in Art History and M.F.A. in Studio Art. She is one of the brilliant exponents of the younger generation of Chinese American artists whose accomplished draftsmanship and unusual vision is directed at examining the tension between delicate, feminine subject matter and its undercurrent of violence and sexual exploitation. Her charming renderings of children, young girls, and animals carry a dangerous and disturbing charge.
